Julia, these frames give me a strong german feeling. Typical dusseldorf school of '70. I live in Greece, the strong diffused light is a memory that I carry inside me since I was in Dusseldorf as kid. For many years I couldn't explain the reason why I 've been loving Johannes Vermeer's paintings or the sudness of Sven Nykvist's photography in Ingmar Bergman's films. That I mostly love in northern Europe is north light. Ok, there is a similar light during the winter especially in north Greece (see Angelopoulos filmography) but it isn't so frequent especially in Anthens where I live.
